Project Manager - Substation Division

New River Electrical Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead our Substation Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing intermediate to complex projects, providing critical leadership and management for project execution, and conducting business development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, and team members to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct business development activities, including preparing estimates and bids, and participating in the development of bidding strategy and pricing.
  • Lead project teams, including superintendents, general foremen, and foremen, to ensure proper handling of job planning, interpretation of contract documents, and administration of company safety programs.
  • Prepare project initiation plans, including manpower loaded schedules, cash flow invoicing projections, material, tool, and equipment requirements, and project-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct job site safety audits to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and communicate meaningful training to crews and crew supervision.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships to ensure project schedule, project scopes, and safety expectations are effectively communicated.
  • Manage project costs and proactively identify risks to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Develop project cash flows, manage project billing, and change order tracking.
  • Exhibit proficiency in contract development and management, project risk management, and effective communication with project stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in engineering, construction management, business administration, or related field, with three (3) years qualified experience, or a minimum of eight (8) years of field supervision or relevant experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated skills in providing leadership, motivation, vision, and direction.
  • Proven success in developing and maintaining customer relationships, with extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the construction of all aspects of both air insulated substations and gas insulated substations.
  • Ability to read, understand, and provide constructability improvements from all issued project documents.

Travel: Travel for this position is required and will consist of overnight stays.
