Exercise Physiologist

In this role, you will work closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide evidence-based exercise therapy to patients. Your primary responsibilities include developing and implementing exercise prescriptions through initial patient assessments, exercise testing, monitoring, and evaluation of patient progress. You will use evidence-based practice, protocols, and guidelines to determine exercise interventions.
As part of our team, you will be directly involved in patient care, patient education, program development, and quality performance improvement. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assessing exercise therapy needs using standardized practices and critical thinking, conducting exercise testing where applicable, and recognizing potential medical problems in all clinical situations.
- Developing exercise prescriptions according to age, disease, medical history, comorbidities, and individual needs for patients, implementing, monitoring, and modifying exercise prescriptions and individual treatment plans.
- Providing initial orientation to exercise programs, educating patients on untoward signs and symptoms to recognize and report, safe use of exercise equipment, and program processes.
- Documenting all aspects of exercise therapy in medical records, demonstrating compliance with regulatory agency standards, and communicating effectively with physicians, medical directors, other providers, and coworkers.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Additionally, you must have one year of experience working in a clinical exercise setting, and hold a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP) certification within twelve months of hire. Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per annum
