About the Role

This Child Welfare Specialist position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety and well-being of children and families in Oklahoma. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for investigating allegations of child abuse or neglect, protecting the safety of children, and providing services to help families overcome barriers that put their children at risk.

With extensive training provided to new employees, you will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in treatment and preventive services, visit children in placement, conduct assessments, refer families to community services, and participate in investigations and court hearings.

What You Will Do:

  • Investigate allegations of child abuse or neglect
  • Protect the safety of children and provide services to help families
  • Conduct assessments of children and families
  • Refer families and children to services in the community
  • Participate in investigations and court hearings

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (in any field) to qualify for Level I, OR one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
  • A Master's degree, OR a Bachelor's Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist, OR Two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist for Level III

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role ranges from $37,280.75 to $43,968.62 per year, depending on level and experience. As a state employee, you will also receive full state employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Travel Requirements:

This role requires extensive travel, so you must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance. State vehicles will be available for use to carry out duties.
