At RAYUS Radiology, we are challenging the status quo by shining a light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. We are seeking a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team and contribute to this mission.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Perform routine and advanced Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET/CT) procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury.
* Screen patients before the procedure for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination.
* Explain and prepare patients for PET procedures, ensuring they understand the process and are comfortable throughout the examination.
* Adjust scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate.
* Maintain positive working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and other associates and peers.
* Assess, prepare, record, and administer radio pharmaceuticals according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State regulations and departmental policies.
* Administer fluorodioxyglucose (FDG) via intravenous methods to patients.
* Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and the maintenance of a safe work environment.
* Report contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer.
* Maintain accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
* Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

* Perform general maintenance on PET/CT scanners and/or mobile scanners and trucks.
* Perform and record daily quality control procedures on specified equipment to ensure correct and accurate operation.
* Perform and record daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines.
* Troubleshoot when possible and report problems to the supervisor.
* Perform daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards of the department and Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State Regulations.
