Key Responsibilities- Assist in the implementation of lesson plans developed by the teacher, ensuring a seamless learning experience for students.
- Supervise students during small group or individual activities, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
- Provide technical support to students, helping them navigate computer systems and software.
- Monitor student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and reporting observations to the teacher as necessary.
- Assist with routine classroom record keeping, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Prepare instructional materials, including copying, duplicating, and setting up audio-visual equipment.
- Observe and report on student behavior, ensuring a positive and respectful classroom environment.
- Provide individual support to students who require additional attention, helping them to catch up with their peers.
- Monitor student behavior in the classroom, cafeteria, and playground, taking necessary action to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Minimum of two years of college education, with a college transcript or diploma required as evidence of education.
- Some experience working with children is desired, with a strong preference for those with experience in educational settings.
- Proficiency in computer operation and instructional software is essential, with the ability to type and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
The Bibb County School District offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including placement on the salary schedule based on years of allowed related experience.
