We are currently in search of a motivated and skilled Automation Control Specialist to take charge of or contribute to the intricate hardware and software design of process automation control systems projects. This role encompasses defining architectural requirements, crafting detailed software design specifications, programming PLC and SCADA applications, configuring thin client server applications, setting up process-based historian databases, fine-tuning control loops, and offering control system startup and commissioning services. You will also troubleshoot existing control systems and ensure their qualifications. This position presents an excellent opportunity to lead or participate in projects from conception through to commissioning.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design and develop application/control systems for projects of varying complexity.
- Evaluate and propose alternative system solutions that fulfill specified requirements.
- Modify program/system logic across multiple systems and subsystems.
- Achieve proficiency in various programming languages and control device networks for PLCs and PCs.
- Engage with clients to understand their business environment, defining scope, plans, and deliverables for assigned tasks.
- Collaborate effectively within a team, emphasizing customer service and continuous improvement.
- Enjoy visiting local sites and value the documentation and planning aspects of engineering in a regulated environment.
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in consulting.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in control systems and a solid understanding of process controls.
- Experience with control system validation in pharmaceutical or biotech environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Rockwell products, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PlantPAx, Factory Talk Software Suite, Studio 5000, PLC5, SLC500, RSView, and PanelView Plus.
- Experience with other PLC platforms (GE, Siemens, Modicon) and SCADA/HMI packages (Proficy and Wonderware).
- Experience in implementing detailed control system electrical design packages.
- Working knowledge of control system networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.).
- Understanding of biopharmaceutical processes, GMP, and validation standards.
- Knowledge of S88 Batch standards and experience in implementing batch systems.
- Instrumentation experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary range: $80K - $150K
