We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at CommonSpirit Health. As a Cath Lab Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Responsibilities- Provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures, including preparation, admission, and post-procedure care.
- Administer and maintain sedation and analgesia as ordered by the physician, assessing and intervening in the event of complications.
- Monitor and assess patients receiving sedation and analgesia throughout diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures.
- Provide on-call coverage for the Cath Lab and respond within 30 minutes of call.
- Adhere to departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, staying up-to-date on trends, developments, and regulatory requirements.
- Administer, oversee, and document the administration of medications as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy.
- Assess patients to identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral, emotional, developmental, and spiritual needs, gathering data relevant for patient care and implementing appropriate interventions and evaluations.
- Prepare patients for discharge and assist with coordinating post-discharge needs.
- Document care delivered and patient status using the nursing process, in accordance with FHS standards of care.
- Identify opportunities for and participate in performance/quality improvement activities to improve clinical outcomes, healthcare delivery systems, and address patient safety/satisfaction and cost containment.
- Lead, coordinate, and communicate the ongoing delivery of patient care services provided by members of assigned patient care teams, considering patient acuity and the competencies of care team members in delegating and assigning work.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
- One year of related work experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare BLS Certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or within six months of hire.
- CCRN (Certification in Adult Critical Care) RN preferred.
- IV competency must be attained within four months, training is available.
