Position Overview

Role Summary

The Early Childhood Education Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the lead educator in the overall supervision and management of a classroom filled with young learners. This position involves assisting in the planning and implementation of the educational curriculum aligned with the objectives of New Morning Schools, LLC.

Working Hours

The schedule for this role is from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director and lead educator in long-term curriculum planning and program objectives.
  • Adhere to daily, weekly, and monthly curriculum schedules that reflect developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Supervise and engage with children across all program areas.
  • Create an environment that fosters children's independence and growth.
  • Ensure a positive experience for each child within the program.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times regarding all matters related to New Morning Schools, LLC.
  • Keep the classroom and materials organized and clean.
  • Follow all center policies and comply with relevant Childcare Licensing Regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively as a member of the New Morning Schools team.
  • Complete a minimum of 24 hours of in-service training annually in Core Knowledge Areas.
  • Assist with additional responsibilities as required, including field trips and open houses.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 9 college credits in Early Childhood Education from an accredited institution, including at least 3 credits in child development.
  • Certification in Pediatric First Aid and infant/CPR.
  • At least one year of experience working with children in an early childhood setting.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • A current Child Care Health Form completed by a healthcare provider, indicating fitness to work with children, to be submitted upon hire and renewed every three years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Employee Eligibility Card.
  • Up-to-date CPR and First Aid Certification.
