Job Title: Shop Mechanic

IEA Management Services is seeking a skilled Shop Mechanic to join our team. As a Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining the operations and appearance of our equipment, including assessment, diagnosis, replacement, and repair.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on all equipment, including troubleshooting and determining if repairs will be done in-house or outsourced.
  • Update tool inventory and ensure all equipment has an equipment ID (logo, unit numbers, digital photos).
  • Properly complete a JHA prior to any work function that poses a potential of injury.
  • Operate equipment to diagnose problems and inspect equipment for defects.
  • Maintain proper record keeping and ensure all maintenance records and major repairs are up-to-date.
  • Occasionally travel to jobsites for repairs and inspections, review field maintenance to ensure it is done properly, and review maintenance reports.
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair, document all work performed and recommended on the repair order, and communicate to obtain needed parts.
  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor and keep shop area neat and clean.
  • Maintain and account for all shop tools and manuals, and understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner and report any safety issues immediately to management.
Requirements:
  • Certificate from college or technical school in Diesel or Automotive Technology preferred.
  • One to two years related experience preferred.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
