Dietetic Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Dietetic Specialist to coordinate all phases of nutrition care at HCA Florida Blake Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing patient nutritional needs, developing and implementing dietary care plans, and providing nutritional counseling.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and Organize Nutritional Care: Demonstrate accountability in planning and organizing the nutritional care of patients, ensuring accurate calculation of nutritional needs based on individual therapeutic requirements.
• Nutrition Assessment and Counseling: Assess patient nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and develop measurable short and long-term nutritional goals, evaluating progress towards desired outcomes.
• Ensure Quality Nutrition Service: Monitor and inspect meal service for conformance to prescribed diets and standards of palatability and appearance, contributing to a culture of patient-centered care by ensuring a quiet healing environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or comparable major.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Registered Dietitian in an acute care environment or successful completion of coordinated program or dietetic internship of not less than 900 hours under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian.
• Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) by the Florida Board of Dietetics and Nutrition; Registered dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Candidates eligible for registration may be hired with the understanding that registration will be achieved within 90 days of hire.

The estimated salary for this position is around $63,000 - $83,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
