About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Prime Controls. As a key member of our Systems Integration team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful start-up and commissioning of systems for new and existing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review engineering design documents to verify compliance with requirements.
  • Perform I/O and functional testing to ensure system readiness.
  • Support technicians in troubleshooting field devices and resolving issues.
  • Troubleshoot PLC code and HMI screens, making fixes as necessary.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network equipment to ensure seamless system operation.
  • Support the startup of the system, ensuring a smooth transition to operational status.
  • Train customer employees on system operation and maintenance.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in industrial automation, with expertise in PLC programming and commissioning.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% for project-related activities.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Work Environment

The work environment for this role will involve working near moving mechanical parts and exposure to electrical shock. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities. The employee may be required to wear PPE, including hard hats, safety boots, and hearing protection.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision. The employee will be required to spend 10 hours on their feet, walking and attending to duties and equipment throughout the jobsite.
