Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Clinical Nurse to join our team at Wellstar Health System. As a WOCN Clinical Nurse, you will provide expert care to patients with complex wounds, ostomies, and continence issues, working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive wound, ostomy, and continence care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and case reviews to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers on wound, ostomy, and continence care, including pre- and post-operative education.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and research in wound, ostomy, and continence care, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to wound, ostomy, and continence care.
- Precept and mentor new staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing with a BSN degree.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Georgia.
- National certification in wound, ostomy, and continence nursing (WOCN) or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a staff nurse in an acute care setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
