Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Utility Maintenance Engineer to join our Utilities Maintenance - Water team. This role involves performing a variety of skilled work in maintaining and repairing the City's water or wastewater reclamation transmission, regulatory and related equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining pumps, piping, tanks, valves, switches, diesel and natural gas generators at City water and wastewater treatment plants along with well sites, booster stations, reservoirs and sewer lift stations.
  • Performing maintenance and control work on chlorination equipment, pump control valves, various pressure control valves; adjusting system to meet specific demands; replacing pump packing and mechanical seals; repairing hydrostatic drives for pumps; repairing and troubleshooting air compressors and vacuum pumps; maintaining voltage and oil supply in the City's pumps and auxiliary equipment.
  • Installing and making repairs on water lines, valves, sewage stations and other components of pump stations.
  • Investigating complaints regarding loss of water pressure and quality of water and making necessary adjustments; taking water samples and performing quality tests on water complaints; and responding to water-related emergencies.
