Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in patient care by taking vital signs, conducting basic assessments, and explaining medical information under the guidance of healthcare providers.
- Perform blood draws and assist with procedures as directed by providers; IV experience is a plus.
- Handle medical registration tasks, ensuring an efficient check-in and check-out process, including confirming patient registration, verifying insurance, and collecting payments.
- Manage incoming calls, assist patients with scheduling, and relay messages to appropriate providers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience in a physician office or clinic setting, preferably in Internal Medicine or Primary Care.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a customer service-oriented mindset.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing high call volumes and multitasking effectively.
- Proficient in obtaining patient vitals and history, with the ability to perform telephone triage.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and assist with inventory management.
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments and ensure the office lobby remains tidy.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Medical Assistant Certification is mandatory.
- Preferred experience includes one year in a medical office, strong computer skills, and knowledge of health insurance.
Skills:
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- Detail-oriented approach, particularly regarding patient information.
- Capable of remaining calm and de-escalating situations with upset patients.
