Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in patient care by taking vital signs, conducting basic assessments, and explaining medical information under the guidance of healthcare providers.
  • Perform blood draws and assist with procedures as directed by providers; IV experience is a plus.
  • Handle medical registration tasks, ensuring an efficient check-in and check-out process, including confirming patient registration, verifying insurance, and collecting payments.
  • Manage incoming calls, assist patients with scheduling, and relay messages to appropriate providers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a physician office or clinic setting, preferably in Internal Medicine or Primary Care.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing high call volumes and multitasking effectively.
  • Proficient in obtaining patient vitals and history, with the ability to perform telephone triage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and assist with inventory management.
  • Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out processes.
  • Schedule appointments and ensure the office lobby remains tidy.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification is mandatory.
  • Preferred experience includes one year in a medical office, strong computer skills, and knowledge of health insurance.

Skills:

  • Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
  • Detail-oriented approach, particularly regarding patient information.
  • Capable of remaining calm and de-escalating situations with upset patients.
