About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at The GEO Group, Inc. in a correctional setting. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a critical role in providing mental health services to inmates/detainees/residents (I/D/R) and contributing to their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluation and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations and diagnoses of I/D/Rs to identify mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
  • Treatment and Psychotherapy: Provide psychotherapy or counseling services to I/D/Rs with psychological disorders or mental illness, and make referrals to psychiatrists as necessary.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of services provided, including notes and documentation in patient medical records.
  • Staff Training and Education: Instruct medical and correctional staff on recognizing suicide risk factors and provide in-service education as required.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure: PhD or PsyD in Psychology from an accredited University, and current license in Psychology in the state where the facility is located.
  • Experience: Two years of correctional work experience preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to frequently lift or carry up to 10 lbs., walk, stand, bend, stoop, and sit, and occasionally lift or carry/push or pull up to 40 lbs., climb, reach above shoulder level, and work with machinery.
