Job Summary

The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a highly skilled Staff Psychologist to join our team at the Bob Stump VA Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. As a Staff Psychologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality mental health services to our patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations to identify mental health needs and develop treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to patients with a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and substance use disorders.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans that address the physical and emotional needs of patients.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of mental health services and improve patient outcomes.
  • Stay current with best practices in mental health treatment and participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice psychology in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Experience working with patients with mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use disorders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
