Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Documentation Specialist to join our team at UNC Health. As a Medical Documentation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Enter accurate and complete data into the electronic medical record system.
  • Gather and document clinical information from various sources, including current and historical records.
  • Perform administrative tasks to support the efficiency of healthcare providers, such as medication reconciliation and communication assistance.
  • Complete annual training requirements and sign a confidentiality agreement.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification preferred.
  • Medical terminology education or experience preferred.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with standard hours of 40.00 per week. The salary is $24.63 per hour, with pay offers determined by experience and internal equity.

This position is exempt from overtime and is employed by UNC Health, a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System.
