Role Overview
The Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing a dynamic and profitable parts department. This includes managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining accurate parts records. The ideal candidate will focus on optimizing operations to expedite repairs and minimize cycle times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a successful parts department, ensuring outstanding customer service.
  • Oversee daily parts ordering from suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Monitor processes related to customer sales, inventory control, and vendor relations.
  • Conduct regular audits of repair orders to ensure accurate parts billing.
  • Facilitate the timely return of cores and warranty parts to vendors.
  • Proactively communicate with customers to address potential issues.
  • Foster strong interdepartmental relationships and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate parts department staff.
  • Prepare and manage operating budgets for the parts department.
  • Effectively manage obsolete parts inventory.
  • Assist with additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in parts is required.
  • Experience in dealership service and parts is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of management experience in a department setting is preferred.
