About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Learning Society Fellow to join our team at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. As a Learning Society Fellow, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success of our medical students through case-based small group instruction, small group debriefing of students' clinical experiences, and meetings with students for coaching, mentoring, and reviewing student portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide case-based small group instruction to medical students
  • Lead small group debriefing sessions to facilitate student learning and reflection
  • Meet with students for coaching, mentoring, and reviewing student portfolios
  • Provide coverage and backup for small groups as needed
  • Participate in weekly faculty development and faculty working sessions
  • Contribute to learning society activities and educational scholarship
Requirements
  • PhD or equivalent in basic or social sciences, or an MD/DO or equivalent and a valid medical license
  • Minimum of three years of experience teaching medical students or residents
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
