The Preconstruction Specialist position is a critical role within W.E. O'Neil Construction, responsible for supporting preconstruction efforts and leading bid processes. As a key team member, you will work closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Project Milestone Management: Understand project milestones and CPM schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Constructability Analysis: Identify constructability issues and offer value analysis to optimize project outcomes.
- Subcontractor Management: Develop subcontractor scopes and track cost differences to ensure accurate budgeting.
- Market Research: Research unit pricing and quantify materials to inform budgeting decisions.
- Proposal Management: Manage subcontractor proposals and relationships to ensure successful project execution.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Utilize historic data and market conditions for budgeting and forecasting.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with insurance and permit requirements to mitigate project risks.
- Education: Four-year degree in Construction Management or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in Commercial Estimating.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in software programs such as Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam Revu.
- Knowledge and Skills: Basic understanding of scheduling and construction administration processes.
This role may involve light lifting and prolonged periods of sitting at a desk. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
Employees may work in our regional offices and occasionally visit construction sites. Safety precautions are taken to ensure a secure work environment.
