Job Summary

The Preconstruction Specialist position is a critical role within W.E. O'Neil Construction, responsible for supporting preconstruction efforts and leading bid processes. As a key team member, you will work closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Milestone Management: Understand project milestones and CPM schedules to ensure timely completion.
  • Constructability Analysis: Identify constructability issues and offer value analysis to optimize project outcomes.
  • Subcontractor Management: Develop subcontractor scopes and track cost differences to ensure accurate budgeting.
  • Market Research: Research unit pricing and quantify materials to inform budgeting decisions.
  • Proposal Management: Manage subcontractor proposals and relationships to ensure successful project execution.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Utilize historic data and market conditions for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with insurance and permit requirements to mitigate project risks.
Requirements
  • Education: Four-year degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in Commercial Estimating.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in software programs such as Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Basic understanding of scheduling and construction administration processes.
Work Environment
