STARBASE Director

The STARBASE Director will oversee the Blackstone STARBASE Program, ensuring its effective operation and alignment with program objectives. This role requires strong leadership, management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.

• Directs and manages the Blackstone STARBASE Program, developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure its effective operation.
• Maintains standards consistent with program objectives, timelines, and the Cooperative Agreement.
• Prepares and submits monthly budget summaries to track expenditures and budget status.
• Schedules annual program reviews to include program management and funding processes/procedures with DMA Fiscal Operations and USPFO.
• Performs performance management, ensuring staff have the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to accomplish goals.
• Serves as liaison with various state/local/national departments and agencies that interact with the Program.
• Conducts conferences and briefings to explain and promote the STARBASE Program.
• Keeps the DMA Chief Operations Officer (COO) informed of current trends, practices, and changes in the STARBASE program.

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a STEM or Education field.
• Experience in educational supervision and management.
• Knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Education lesson planning and assessment.
• Ability to recognize and evaluate effective teaching practices and classroom management skills.

• Extensive experience in elementary education or program management.
