The Emergency Care Technician (ECT) is a vital member of our Emergency Services team, responsible for providing technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. As an ECT, you will work under the supervision of a licensed nurse, who will delegate tasks based on patient needs and your core competencies.
Key Responsibilities- Provide care to patients across all spectrums of the lifespan
- Perform technical tasks such as IV Starts, Venipuncture, Splinting, Bladder Male/Female Catheterization, and EKG course
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care
- Develop and maintain strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of the following competencies within six months of employment: IV Starts, Venipuncture, Splinting, Bladder Male/Female Catheterization, and EKG course
- Less than 2 years of experience: Successful completion of Certified or Geriatric Nursing Assistant course required; One Year Patient Care Technician or Emergency Medical Technician experience preferred
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
- CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider
- Initiative, motivation, and strong communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to be an active team player
