Community Porter

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Community Porter - Custodian to join our team at Centrespace. As a key member of our maintenance staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the community's common areas, unit turns, and providing an excellent first impression of the interior to support our vision of maintaining the appearance and preservation of our properties.

• General Property Maintenance and Cleaning: Routinely perform housekeeping tasks in all areas, including sweeping, mopping, waxing, and vacuuming floors, emptying wastebaskets, dusting and wiping all surfaces, cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms, showers, and bathtubs, and cleaning kitchen and pantry areas.
• Cleaning of Common Areas: Clean all common areas as scheduled by the supervisor, including parking garages, individual offices, clubroom areas, community rooms, model units, corporate apartments, mailbox areas, stairwells, storage areas, and elevators.
• Daily Touch-Up Cleaning: Perform daily touch-up cleaning of our tour path and show apartment homes.
• Light Apartment Maintenance: Assist with light apartment maintenance with introduction to in-home service requests.
• Cleaning Supplies and Equipment: Be responsible for the care, maintenance, and inventory of all necessary cleaning products, supplies, and equipment used at the property.
• OSHA and Safety Policies: Be aware of and operate within OSHA standards and company safety policies at all times.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Background in custodial work preferred.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, MSDS sheets, and basic maintenance instructions.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and calculate figures and amounts as it relates to cleaning solutions and areas.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Constantly: Stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, crawl, crouch, squat, kneel, use hands and fingers to grasp, grip, turn, and feel, reach above shoulders, push, pull, lift, and carry, operate cleaning equipment, and talk and hear.
• Frequently: Lift and/or move 10-25 pounds, climb ladders, and balance.
• Occasionally: Lift and/or move more than 25 pounds, although usually with the assistance of another employee and/or equipment.
