Overview

Metropolitan Veterinary Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional client service, managing patient flow, and supporting our veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional client service, responding to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Manage patient flow, scheduling appointments, and surgeries, and ensuring timely and efficient processing of clients.
  • Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to patients, including preparing medical records, and assisting with medical procedures.
  • Collect payment from clients, process credit card transactions, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Verify client eligibility for charge accounts and ensure accurate and up-to-date client information.
  • Fill prescriptions, refill forms, and provide routine administration instructions to clients.
  • Advise clients on flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventatives, pre-anesthetic testing, pain management, shampoos, home dental products, and other retail items.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated commitment to Metropolitan Veterinary Center's core values.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, veterinarians, and veterinary technicians.
  • Strong computer skills, including keyboarding and use of communication tools (email/internet).
  • Working knowledge of veterinary terminology, including pronunciation, spelling, and meaning.
  • Ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult situations, including exposure to highly emotional situations.
  • Ability to display tact and respect with clients and team members, even in busy or hectic situations.
