Echocardiogram Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Echocardiogram Technician to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiograms and providing exceptional patient care.

• Perform transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms on patients, utilizing advanced imaging techniques to obtain high-quality images.
• Assist physicians and support staff with technical acquisition of stress echocardiograms, ensuring accurate and timely results.
• Provide preliminary findings from exams and accurately complete exam worksheets, including measurements and calculations.
• Individualize interaction with and treatment of patients during exams, prioritizing patient comfort and dignity.
• Establish a professional rapport with patients and family members, explaining procedures and addressing concerns in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
• Maintain accurate records and logs, adhering to departmental quality assurance policies and procedures.
• Assist in the optimal operation of echo imaging units and instruments, ensuring safe and efficient use.
• Participate in training and orientation of new staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
• Perform other duties and related activities as requested by Lead Echo technologist and Supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

• Minimum three to five years of experience in performing stress echoes and interpreting 2D, M-Mode, and Doppler Echocardiograms.
• Completion of an accredited Sonography program in Echocardiography.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certificate or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support certification.

• A.S. degree in cardiovascular technology or diagnostic medical sonography.
