Job Summary

Under the supervision of a healthcare provider and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs various administrative and clinical tasks to ensure high-quality patient care. Key responsibilities include greeting and escorting patients, obtaining medical histories, measuring and recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting healthcare providers during procedures.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills
  • Ability to perform a wide range of clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred
Education and Certification
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a minimum 160-hour clinical externship
  • OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five years
  • OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five years of experience in clinical medical assisting
  • OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one year of clinical experience in a medical setting within the past five years
  • OR Military-trained medical personnel with at least one year of clinical experience in a medical setting within the past five years
Certifications/Licenses Required
  • Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation
