Key Responsibilities- Administer medications and perform various patient care duties utilizing the nursing process.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Promote positive public relations for the nursing department and hospital.
- Implement, transcribe, and countersign physician orders as needed.
- Competently administer medications and assist with diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Provide leadership and work cooperatively with ancillary departments and other patient care team members.
- Perform core and unit-specific clinical skills to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to make sound clinical decisions.
- Participate in patient and family teaching to promote health and wellness.
- Graduate from an approved school of practical nursing.
- Possess current licensure by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
- I.V. Therapy Certification preferred.
- Previous nursing experience preferred.
This is a full-time position working nights from 7pm-7am. The majority of the shift is spent standing, with considerable walking and lifting required.
