Adjunct Faculty in Art Education

Role Overview: Under general supervision, the instructor is responsible for developing lesson plans for classroom instruction in accredited technical and vocational courses. This includes crafting standardized course syllabi using provided templates and assessing students' progress in achieving established goals and objectives based on defined grading criteria. The instructor will also prepare and maintain all necessary documentation and administrative reports, and participate in professional development training as required for specific classroom or online course delivery.
The role involves teaching Art courses in a classroom, lab, or field environment that closely mirrors industry standards while staying updated on current trends and advancements in the field. Instruction will encompass both theoretical concepts and practical applications of Art. The instructor will measure program or departmental student learning outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and success, submitting results to the department chair.
Required Skills: Strong computer skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to engage with a diverse student population are essential. The position may necessitate teaching during the day, evening, or through distance learning formats.
Minimum Qualifications: (Candidates must meet all minimum qualifications to be considered)
- A Master's Degree in Art or a Master's degree in a related field with 18 credit hours in the teaching discipline from an accredited institution.
- A valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A PhD in Art.
- Experience teaching at the postsecondary level.
- Familiarity with online or hybrid teaching environments.
Compensation and Benefits: Salary is based on qualifications; no benefits are provided.
