Position Overview:
The Senior Financial Analyst will be instrumental in the financial reporting, strategic planning, forecasting, and business analytics for The Apparel Group. This role is tasked with the creation of precise and timely budgets and forecasts, alongside conducting variance analysis and evaluating supply chain and logistics performance. The individual will also serve as a liaison between finance and technology, ensuring the integrity of data sourced from our financial systems while identifying opportunities for process enhancements within Finance and Accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the precision of financial data utilized for reporting purposes.
- Oversee the reporting of essential financial metrics that inform operational decisions.
- Provide comprehensive financial data support to key stakeholders within the finance division.
- Enhance and implement an analytics framework, ensuring financial dashboards are updated accurately and promptly.
- Deliver exceptional support during month-end close, forecasting, planning cycles, and ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Transform data into actionable insights, effectively addressing ambiguous and unstructured challenges.
- Collaborate within a cross-functional team to present and clarify deliverables to non-technical audiences.
- Refine and maintain data collection methodologies, document data definitions, and catalog metadata requirements for enterprise BI and analytical applications.
- Establish and uphold key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales and operational efficiency to bolster business initiatives, creating clear and compelling visual representations of data insights.
- Utilize advanced quantitative techniques, data mining, modeling, and analytical tools to tackle complex business challenges.
- Facilitate training, address inquiries, assess user requirements, and recommend modifications to data systems.
- Analyze and resolve the comprehensive impact of system-related issues.
- Develop and maintain procedural documentation, ensuring the integrity of data within the company’s financial systems.
- Engage in software upgrades, design, implementation, functional testing, and data validation to guarantee quality solutions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Finance and/or Financial Systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial planning, and reporting.
- Proficient in SQL with at least 2 years of experience working with extensive data sets.
- Experience with analytic and reporting tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) for a minimum of 2 years.
- Self-motivated learner with robust problem-solving and time management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster mutual understanding of business needs and collaborative solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, adapting swiftly to changes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
