Job Summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team. As an LVN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, physician assistant, or physician.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team to facilitate, coordinate, and maintain compassionate, efficient, quality care and achievement of desired treatment outcomes.
  • Communicate and advocate for patients and families, ensuring their needs are met and their rights are respected.
  • Participate in implementing the plan of care, collaborating with the interprofessional team and with the patient's family.
  • Contribute to the identification of improvement activities, impacting quality and safety targets, through peer-to-peer accountability, reporting near misses, etc.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.
  • One-year experience as an LVN preferred.
  • LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - REQUIRED: LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse - State Licensure within 75 days, LVN-TP - Licensed Vocational Nurse - Temporary State Licensure within 75 days, BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA).
