Each and every role throughout our organization makes a difference in our ability to change the world for the better. In the role of Civil Design Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  • Provide project engineering and utility coordination with a focus on transportation projects and public transportation clients throughout the region.
  • Develop utility basemaps, coordinate with utility owners and agencies, develop relocation strategies, assist in preparation of cost estimates, preparation of engineering plans, specification for utility relocations, and data analytics such as GIS and Power BI.
  • Work independently as well as assist groups of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/task.
  • Be involved in highway and railroad utility design and plans production for utility owners and municipal clients.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date utility maps and records.
  • Coordinate with utility owners and agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and engineering plans for utility relocations.
  • Develop and implement relocation strategies to minimize disruptions to customers and the community.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity and demonstrated experience with civil engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil 3D.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
