Position Summary

The Director of Accounting Operations is responsible for leading the financial operations of the Orlando division. This position entails overseeing the accounting team, ensuring adherence to financial standards, and delivering clear financial reports to facilitate organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in manufacturing finance, exceptional leadership capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:
    • Oversee indirect cost rates within the MRP/ERP systems
    • Supervise project configurations in Deltek Costpoint
    • Manage Accounts Receivable to ensure prompt billing
    • Oversee Accounts Payable for precise payment processing
    • Coordinate Human Resources and Payroll for accurate financial reporting
  • Financial Reporting and Closing:
    • Direct the monthly financial closing process and journal entries
    • Ensure reconciliation and maintenance of balance sheet accounts
    • Implement revenue recognition practices for client contracts
    • Consult with finance managers for precise project financials
  • Compliance and Internal Controls:
    • Establish and uphold an internal control framework
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations
    • Collaborate with auditors to facilitate audit processes
    • Manage relationships with both internal and external auditors
  • Leadership and Development:
    • Guide and mentor the accounting team
    • Conduct performance assessments and support professional growth
    • Work in partnership with other departments to achieve company goals

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the manufacturing sector, ideally within aerospace
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and Federal Acquisition Regulations
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems
  • Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic work environment

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA designation preferred
  • 10-15 years of experience in accounting and finance
