Core Responsibilities

Position Duties
  • Analyze blueprints and specifications to ascertain the scope of work, including material locations, quantities, and sizes.
  • Determine all necessary tools for assigned tasks.
  • Recognize safety hazards and implement necessary precautions to mitigate risks.
  • Prepare, fabricate, install, and align piping systems according to specifications.
  • Install valves, hangers, supports, and flanges within the piping system in accordance with plans and applicable standards.
  • Conduct tests to verify the integrity and quality of piping systems.
  • Utilize rigging equipment to hoist loads safely.
Essential Qualifications

Mandatory Skills
  • Proven experience in industrial construction and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical manuals.
  • Minimum of 4 years of industrial pipefitting experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and manual dexterity.
  • Excellent reading comprehension and teamwork abilities.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills with peers and supervisors.
  • Commitment to safety regulations and company values.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous employment with Zachry Group.
  • NCCER Certification as an Industrial Pipe Fitter.
  • Relevant formal or technical education.
Reporting Structure

This role does not include direct reports.

Physical Demands
  • Position requires extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
  • Effective communication through speaking and hearing is necessary.
  • Manual dexterity is required for signaling, gripping, holding, turning, pushing, and pulling objects and tools.
  • Must be able to lift and carry loads up to 50 lbs.
  • Work may involve heights, climbing ladders, and using scaffolding with appropriate safety measures.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions while wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Mandatory use of PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, masks, high-visibility vests, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
