Position Summary:

The Lead Pharmacist will be responsible for overseeing critical operations within the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with both internal protocols and external regulations. This role involves direct supervision of pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, while collaborating closely with senior management to meet production objectives and support daily pharmacy functions. This is a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain active licensure in accordance with all relevant state regulations.
  • Coordinate with the Licensing Department for license renewals and new applications.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable state and federal regulatory standards.
  • Document verbal prescription orders accurately.
  • Execute duties in line with established SOPs and industry best practices.
  • Develop, monitor, and achieve production targets.
  • Interpret and clarify prescription orders in collaboration with healthcare providers.
  • Supervise the input of patient and prescription data.
  • Generate and verify prescriptions, formulation records, and related documentation.
  • Support order verification processes to guarantee accuracy in facility operations.
  • Provide professional guidance to prescribers and healthcare team members.
  • Conduct thorough checks of compounded products throughout the process.
  • Ensure the safety and quality of all dispensed compounded medications.
  • Directly oversee pharmacy technicians and other staff involved in daily operations.
  • Advise patients and caregivers regarding their prescriptions.
  • Maintain compliance with USP standards during the compounding of non-sterile medications.
  • Uphold strict adherence to all SOPs.
  • Represent the pharmacy during regulatory audits and communications.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state pharmacy regulations.
  • Utilize performance metrics to assess staff productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate the training and competency assessment of pharmacy staff.
  • Ensure the security of pharmacy operations, inventory, and patient information.

Qualifications:

· BS/Pharm.D. Degree from an accredited pharmacy school.

· Current licensure as a pharmacist in the relevant states.

· 5-8 years of experience in pharmacy practice, including supervisory roles.

· Experience with IV admixture is preferred.

· Familiarity with inventory management practices.

· Commitment to compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.

· Strong understanding of record-keeping protocols.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Reliable attendance and ability to work flexible hours as needed.
