Job Summary: Pacific Coast Producers is seeking a skilled Journeyman Seamer Mechanic to maintain and repair cannery equipment. The successful candidate will have significant industrial experience and be proficient in seamers and cappers operation, maintenance, and repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently operate, maintain, and repair all cannery seamer machinery or equipment.
  • Adjust and set seamers and cappers to give proper closures.
  • Read, understand, and use micrometers, calipers, force cell gauge, and other close tolerance measuring devices.
  • Maintain related machinery such as fillers and syrupers to proper specifications.
  • Dismantle and overhaul seamers and cappers.
  • Understand and maintain inkjet coders and ensure proper code on cans.
  • Work with quality assurance personnel to ensure product specifications.

Requirements:

  • Significant (5+ years) relevant industrial experience.
  • Committed to safety and food safety, including use of appropriate PPE.
  • Proficient English communication skills.
  • Must possess and use personal hand tools.
  • Certified ability to operate/drive a forklift (a.k.a. industrial lift truck).
  • Utilize technology to maintain records and operate seamers.
