The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a vital caregiver, taking charge of a designated group of patients during a specific timeframe. Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all duties and responsibilities pertinent to the unit, aligned with the service scope.
- Apply established procedures and theories relevant to the nursing specialty.
- Maintain precise and current documentation of nursing care to facilitate information sharing among the healthcare team.
- Conduct initial patient assessments upon admission and formulate an appropriate care plan that reflects the needs of patients and their families.
- Implement the care plan, including nursing interventions and patient care procedures.
- Adjust the care plan based on ongoing evaluations.
- Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards and incidents.
- Engage in direct communication to resolve issues when necessary.
- Provide constructive feedback to support the professional growth of colleagues and collaborate to enhance knowledge.
- Recognize personal learning needs and proactively seek solutions.
- Meet all departmental competency requirements.
Department-Specific Duties:
- Deliver post-operative care for patients undergoing complex surgical procedures.
- Assess and intervene to secure positive outcomes during the post-operative recovery phase.
- Monitor and provide care for patients with newly placed tracheostomies.
- Evaluate and manage wounds requiring advanced wound care techniques.
- Educate patients and families regarding new ostomies.
- Collaborate effectively with general surgical residency and oral and maxillofacial surgery residency services.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of one (1) year of relevant nursing experience.

- Weekly Hours: 36.00
- Daily Hours: 12.00
- Weekly Days: 3.00
- Holiday Shifts: Rotation

- Floating Requirements: May float to similar units as needed.
