We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Biology Instructor at Southwestern Community College.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching assigned biology classes, starting with the Spring semester. This includes preparing and delivering courses in accordance with course outlines and schedules, as well as collaborating with colleagues and administrators in program planning and assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned biology classes, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for students.
  • Collaborate with Arts and Sciences colleagues and administrators in program planning and continuous improvement processes.
  • Maintain accurate records for each course taught.
  • Assist in student retention and support college events and activities.
  • Participate in scheduled student evaluations of instructor and space.
  • Keep regular posted office hours in accordance with college policy.
  • Submit all college reports in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Attend instructor and departmental meetings as scheduled.
  • Maintain professional competence through ongoing development and training.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Biology or a closely related discipline with 18 graduate hours in Biology.
  • Teaching experience is required, with community college teaching experience preferred.

Estimated Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
