**Job Overview:**

  • The Allied Trade Specialist is responsible for supervising and performing the fabrication, repair, and modification of metallic and nonmetallic parts.

In this role, you will operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment to create and modify parts as needed. You will also work with different metals and learn safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Fabricate, repair, and modify metallic and nonmetallic parts
  • Operate machines such as engine lathes, utility grinders, power cutoff saws, hydraulic presses, drill presses, oxyacetylene, electric arc, inert gas welding machines, and their associated attachments, accessories, and tools

**Training and Development:**

To become an Allied Trade Specialist, you will undergo 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instructions. This training will cover machine types, setup, and operation, as well as safety procedures and the use of different metals.

You will also learn how to apply mathematical formulas and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. If you are interested in math, science, and mechanical drawing, and enjoy working with your hands, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
