We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Inspector to join our team at the City of Vacaville, CA. As a Senior Building Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that construction projects meet top-tier safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects to ensure code compliance.
  • Review construction plans and specifications for adherence to building regulations and safety standards.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior inspectors, ensuring consistency in inspections and interpretations of building codes.
  • Respond to inquiries from contractors, developers, and the public regarding building code requirements and inspection processes.
Requirements
  • 6 years of building inspection experience with a public agency inspecting all trades.
  • 3 years of experience inspecting commercial and mixed-use development at the journey level.
  • 1 year of experience working in a supervisory or lead capacity.
  • Possession of a Residential Combination Inspector Certification and Commercial Building Inspector Certificate, or equivalent.
