Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

UCHealth (Colorado) is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Denver, Colorado.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technologist to provide top-notch patient care and perform various ultrasound procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnostic medical sonography and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Review patient history, physician's orders, and schedule exams as needed.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
  • Analyze results and identify issues with the quality of imaging results.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
  • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • State licensure if required by law.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
