Job Overview:

As a Medical Imaging Specialist at Optum, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care by operating radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic X-ray images. Your expertise in mammography will enable you to specialize in the production of screening and diagnostic x-rays for the detection of breast tumors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce high-quality X-ray images
  • Position patients on examining tables and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal views
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and ensure cooperation
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff
  • Ensure equipment is in working order and report malfunctions to supervisors
  • Process radiographic images and send them to PACS
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to strictest confidentiality standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved program
  • Current Oregon license in Diagnostic Radiography
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current healthcare level CPR/BLS certification
  • 1+ years of mammography experience

Benefits and Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, including a $7,500 sign-on bonus for external candidates. You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that challenges you and provides clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role.
