Job Overview

Hi-Way Paving, Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Machine Operator to join our team in Nashville, TN. As a key member of our construction and paving operations, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, assisting with maintenance, and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment in compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Load and unload equipment and materials from job sites, vehicles, and trailers.
  • Ensure company equipment, materials, and worksites are maintained, kept clean, and stored safely.
  • Complete required paperwork, reporting, and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required for specific equipment.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of heavy machinery operator experience on a construction/paving site, required. 3+ years, preferred.
  • Experience operating excavators, GPS dozers, loaders, and other heavy equipment.
  • Heavy or highway construction experience, preferred.
  • Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high-security zones.
  • Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Physical capabilities required include climbing, lifting, carrying, standing, sitting, walking, entering confined spaces, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and performing repetitive actions.
