Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

At RWJBarnabas Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner will work closely with our healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients, including assessing, diagnosing, and treating common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma. You will also be responsible for developing treatment plans, educating patients, and promoting health and wellness.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive history, physical, and psychosocial assessments to clients attending the Infectious Disease, Center for Comprehensive Care clinic.
  • Diagnose and treat common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma within legally accepted protocols in collaboration with the physician.
  • Develop treatment plans on every client.
  • Assess the client's psychosocial, emotional, physiologic, and environmental needs and priorities.
  • Inform, teach, counsel, and guide the client and assume responsibility for the management of his or her own health care.
  • Evaluate the client's response to the medical treatment and revise the plan of care as appropriate.
  • Participate in the clinics quality assurance plan by working toward clinic and required grant goals.
  • Participate in clinic audits by assisting in the preparing of client charts.
  • Responsible for adhering to and promoting clinics policies and procedures.
  • Participate in grand rounds and case conferences.
  • Attend in-services programs and continuing education to increase knowledge base.
  • Participate in clinical and departmental meetings and trainings as necessary and appropriate.
  • Maintain required organizational and departmental specific competencies.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet staffing needs of department/organization.
  • Act as a role model and resource person for those who are working directly and indirectly with the clients.
  • Promote and foster a positive work atmosphere.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • APP with a current NJ license.
  • Current NJ APN license required.
  • NCCPA, DEA, CDS, ACLS, and BLS.
  • Candidate should possess effective time management and critical care skills.
  • Experience and knowledge of HIV is preferred.
  • Experience working with urban populations of multiple ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Will consider the right new graduate APP.
Additional Information:
