Job Title: Pharmacist (PRN)

Job Location: Texas Institute for Surgery, Dallas, TX

Job Type: Full-time

Education: Bachelor's of Science degree in Pharmacy required, Doctorate degree preferred

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care pharmacy required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and input physician medication orders for inpatients and outpatients via CPOE
  • Provide drug and dosing information to nurses, providers, and patients as needed
  • Perform daily prospective order review of PACU orders and follow policies and procedures
  • Verify patients' medications brought from home and acquire non-formulary medications as needed
  • Assist with ordering and receiving narcotics from wholesalers
  • Troubleshoot pharmacy and nursing CPSI issues and Pyxis issues as they arise
  • Maintain electronic physician order sets and compound low and medium risk sterile preparations
  • Perform weekly narcotic checks and monthly checks of Pyxis Medstations
  • Work in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and maintain accurate records and statistics

Qualifications:

  • Registered Pharmacist License to practice pharmacy in the State of Texas
  • Sterile Pharmaceutical Compounding Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care pharmacy
