Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Structural Project Engineer to join our team at HDR Engineering, Inc. This role will involve conducting analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications for structural and civil engineering projects related to substation design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct structural and civil engineering calculations with minimal supervision
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard engineering codes, techniques, and procedures
  • Participate and lead civil structures condition assessments and demonstrate report writing ability
  • Analyze available project information, formulate work processes, and execute work within schedules and budgets
  • Interface with internal and external clients
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
  • Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm
  • Computer knowledge of structural analysis programs (STRUDL, RISA, REVIT Structural, RAM Structural System; Enercalc, LPILE, MFAD))
