Job Summary

The Manuscripts Archivist will manage the accessioning, processing, and description of archival collections related to Northwest Ohio within the Center for Archival Collections (CAC). This role will also engage in reference and outreach activities, including the creation of physical and digital exhibits, tours, and classroom instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the accessioning and processing of materials related to the history of Northwest Ohio and other designated subject specializations.
  • Conduct research on potential acquisitions and provide acquisition and deaccessioning recommendations.
  • Manage relationships with current and prospective collection donors.
  • Create and edit catalog records and finding aids for materials.
  • Train and supervise student workers to assist with this work.

Requirements

  • Master of Library Science (MLS) from an ALA-accredited program required.
  • 1 year archival or special collections experience.
  • 1 year of experience with digital initiatives.
