Key Responsibilities:

I. General Duties

II. Ordering Responsibilities

  • Execute departmental orders within designated timelines.
  • Optimize inventory levels to minimize stockouts while ensuring efficient turnover.
  • Guarantee adequate supplies of promotional and seasonal products.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to enhance ordering techniques and resolve issues.
  • Work alongside the department Coordinator to introduce new items and phase out discontinued products.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Coordinator regarding customer preferences and product concerns.
  • Assist in managing vendor credits and address issues related to damages, shortages, and returns.
  • Review and verify invoice accuracy prior to submission to the finance team.

III. Maintenance Duties

  • Ensure the department is visually appealing, fully stocked, and organized.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the department on a daily basis.
  • Organize backstock effectively to meet operational needs.
  • Communicate with the finance department regarding credit or invoice discrepancies.
  • Keep precise records of inventory shrinkage and assist in quarterly counts.
  • Perform receiving duties as assigned by the Stockroom Supervisor.
  • Contribute to setting annual sales, margin, and inventory turnover objectives.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in stocking.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs independently.
  • Capability to handle various food products safely.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with varying conditions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and internet research.
  • Ability to produce quality work within set deadlines.
  • Experience in retail or public service.
  • Knowledge of natural foods and familiarity with organic and non-GMO products.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining composure.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Reliability for scheduled shifts and flexibility in work hours.

Desired Skills:

  • 1 year of experience in retail ordering.
