Job Description:

As a CT Technologist at HexaQuEST Health, Inc., you will be responsible for operating computed tomography equipment and accessories to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Your expertise will be essential in applying principles of radiation protection during exams to minimize unnecessary exposure. You will perform all CT examinations, CT biopsies, 3D renderings, and reformations, utilizing your knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, vascular anatomy, and abnormal pathology.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate computed tomography equipment and accessories to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Apply principles of radiation protection during exams to minimize unnecessary exposure.
  • Perform all CT examinations, CT biopsies, 3D renderings, and reformations.
  • Utilize knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, vascular anatomy, and abnormal pathology.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  • Evaluate images and data for technical quality, manipulate display parameters, and assure proper identification.
  • Select proper technical factors and operate equipment and accessories as directed.
  • Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
  • Prepare solutions for patients to drink, such as barium and other contrast agents.
  • Utilize shielding as necessary for patient and staff.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Education program.
  • Current NYS license in Radiologic Technology required, with injection certification.
  • ARRT Certification required, Computed Tomography preferred at hire or obtained within 24 months of hire.
  • 2 or more years of experience as CT Technologist is preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, rotating shifts and campuses as departmental needs require. The staff member must adhere to hospital policies and procedures related to mandatory education, annual health assessment, licensure verification, DOH, and The Joint Commission.
