X-Ray Technologist Job Description

Sigma Healthcare is seeking a skilled X-Ray Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for preparing patients for diagnostic examinations, performing diagnostic procedures, and maintaining a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic examinations by confirming physicians' orders, verifying patients' identities, and obtaining adequate medical histories.
  • Perform diagnostic examinations/procedures on all patient age groups and maintain clinical competency.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, standards, and protocols.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of knowledge and understanding of diagnostic services/activities.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors, adhering to radiation safety practices.
  • Administer contrast agents and follow established guidelines for selection and administration.
  • Report, record, and file patient and procedural data to accurately document department operations and facilitate timely billing.
  • Maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and review schedules daily to ensure all patients are scheduled appropriately.
  • Serve as a Clinical Instructor to diagnostic imaging students and report technical quality review of images.
  • Ensure X-Ray images produced are of sufficient high quality and report and reconcile daily diagnostic QC's.
  • Provide daily volume and monthly repeat rate reports, as well as end-of-month dashboard statistics, to management.
  • Collaborate with management to conduct subject research, evaluate, recommend, and implement new programs, services, technologies, and operations tools.
  • Report Press Ganey scores daily for the Diagnostic department and provide an action plan when scores fall below projected goals.
  • Assist in maintaining projected goals and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • ARRT registered in Radiologic Technology.
  • Completion of an accredited two-year program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
  • Three years of relevant experience.
  • IL State Radiologic Technologist License for all outpatient facilities.
  • American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers.
