Nurse Specialist

At the Detroit Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Hematology/Oncology team at Children's Hospital of Michigan. As a key member of our patient care team, you will provide exceptional care to our young patients and their families, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse - Hematology/Oncology will be responsible for providing direct patient care to children with hematological and oncological conditions, including administering medications, performing procedures, and educating patients and families on disease management and treatment options. You will also participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans, collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.

- Participate in the development and implementation of unit-based policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital standards.
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our patients, including physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of educational programs and materials for patients, families, and healthcare professionals, promoting evidence-based practice and best practices in pediatric hematology and oncology.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
- BSN preferred.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan required.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required.
